Methodology

Materials

The Engineer will approve the materials utilized.

Sizes and routing will follow the approved Shop Drawings.

Protection and Storage

Deliver all components and parts to the job site, fully labelled in accordance with shop and approved CAD drawings prepared for this work.

Keep above ground, fully protected from the elements and building activity, and store in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Fixation and Installation

Pre-Installation

Ensure that civil clearance has been completed before beginning the installation.

The installation will be carried out in accordance with the project specifications, approved shop drawings, and manufacturer recommendations.

Installation

To coordinate with other MEP works, create workshop drawings that illustrate a complete installation and section details, and get consultant engineers’ approval on them.

Get approval for the drawing from the telephone workshop.

Install the primary telephone incomer’s sleeves. Install telephone junction boxes and phone boxes. For the precise location of the telephone main cable entry sleeve, network provider prior coordination is required.

Install PVC conduits inside walls and slabs of concrete.

Install cable trays and trunking in risers as indicated on the pertinent shop drawings.

Run wires through trunking or pipes in the false ceiling area of hallways from different telephone and data outlets into intermediate telephone distribution frames.

Run telephone and data cables through cable risers or trunking from the intermediate distribution frame panel to the main distribution frames in the low current room on the ground floor.

Install the necessary wires and cables, as well as telephone and data outlets, in the distribution frame panels.

Wire installation

Unless they are inside consoles, back boxes, workstations, or countertops, install cables in cable trays and raceways. Keep cables and raceways hidden everywhere but in unfinished areas.

Within-Enclosure Wiring

In enclosures, bundle, lattice, and train cables, connect to terminal points without excess and without going above the manufacturer’s bending radius restrictions.

Meet the requirements for grounding conductors and connectors in Section “Grounding and Bonding for Electrical Systems.”

Abide with the sections of the wiring regulations for electricity.

Use a conductor that is no smaller than the equipment grounding conductor required by the Electricity Wiring Regulations, Sections, to connect metallic equipment to the system grounding bus bar.

Identification

Determine which system parts, cables, and wiring adhere to electricity wiring regulations.

Observe the identification requirements outlined in Section “Identification for Electrical Systems.”

Programming
